What Our Students & Parents Say

"My daughter attended Berkeley Carroll and started ACT prep with a Bespoke tutor the summer after 10th grade. Their tutor was in the humanities and I liked him a lot; he had a smart, reasonable approach, but my daughter needed help with the Math and Science section and he just wasn't good at the Math/Science portion. My daughter took two ACT tests Junior fall and then February, and got a 32 on each, but she was scoring in the teens on the science! After February we switched to Zack, and [student] only worked with Zach for a short while before the April test. He was charming but really all business and moved very fast. Zack never needed to look anything up, and always knew exactly what to do. He also always sent a full session report with great details on what [student] needed to focus on for that week's homework. All in all we worked with Zack for four months, half the time we worked with the other tutor. [Student] took the April and June ACTs and nailed it!"

— Parent of Berkeley Carroll ACT Student

"Both of my boys worked with Zack for the SATs and he was very helpful to them. They both attended the Institute for Collaborative Education (ICE), and while we absolutely loved the school they didn't have to take any standardized tests, even the NY state tests, so they were really unprepared for the SAT. They did a prep class through the school with Revolution Prep and it was pretty lame and just didn't work at all for them. Neither scored well on their first SAT. Then we found Zack through a friend's recommendation, and it was a perfect fit. He was great at helping them in a human way - easy to relate to and work with. His teaching style was perfect for what my boys needed. I was initially focused on math because I thought the ICE math wasn't strong enough, but Zack had a great overall approach and worked with the boys on both Math and English. [Student 1] ended up with a 790 ELA/750 Math (1540 total) and [student 2] with a 750 on each section (1500 total). And that was without superscoring - they just got those scores in one shot on their first test after starting with Zack. Now they are at UVA and UChicago and super happy!"

"Excellent Myles. Very concise and thorough in helping me understand the material."

— Lex, statistics student

"You have taken my stress level down... I can't thank you enough."

— Parent of math student

"Myles is organized and efficient. He is passionate about teaching the material. The quality that impresses me the most is that he is able to engage my son during these coronavirus times, when we are not even certain whether the SAT exam will happen or not. That speaks a lot to Myles's charisma. We are lucky to have him. He is an outstanding educator. I highly recommend."

— Kavitha, parent of SAT student

"Myles was not only well informed of the topic, but was also able to provide me with additional resources for me to gain a deeper knowledge of the meaning of the values I was solving for."

— Renee, statistics student

"Love working with Myles he knows the material so well, has answers to all my questions. He explains complicated ideas in a simple and understandable way and he is very professional. Highly recommend."

— Naida, adult learner in CS and statistics

"I liked Myles' first session today, he's a great teacher! He ensured his style of teaching was working and was 'teaching me how to fish' rather than giving me a fish."

— Hassam, CS student

"I cannot imagine my LSAT journey without Ed When we first met I could not grasp certain concepts, I struggled with time management when answering questions, and I was ready to quit because it all felt like such an uphill battle. But then I was connected to Ed and he changed the game for me! Studying in a weird way became fun because I was watching myself improve I felt little victories every day! Ed is not only an amazing educator, he is dedicated to his clients. He tutored me all summer even while he was abroad; he worked at odd hours to accommodate me with the time difference. With Ed's help I not only raised my score 9 points between the first test and the next one I took, was accepted to almost every school I applied to, and received nearly a full tuition scholarship to the school I decided on, but also gained the confidence I needed to go to law school and power through hard classes. He taught me that I was more than capable, and so many of the techniques he taught me, I use now in studying in law school."

— Rebecca, LSAT student, 163

"I wholeheartedly recommend working with Ed. As a person with a learning disability, the LSAT was not just hard; it was almost impossible. My first attempt was so bad I believed I'd never be able to improve. However, working with Ed made the difference. And I believe it was because he was more than just a Myles; he was also a coach. We worked together to find the best strategies that would work for me and he guided me on how to use them on the LSAT. And so, from starting out in the low 130s to scoring in the high 150s and now enrolled in law school, I can attest that it did."

— Phillip, LSAT student

"I worked with Ed in preparation for the June and August LSATs during the spring/summer of 2022. For the few months that we worked together, Ed was able to help me increase my score more than 20 points from where I originally started. Ed took his time explaining the complexities of LSAT questions and how the exam makers were intentionally trying to confuse the test takers. We would then drill practice problems together and Ed would give me tips and tricks to solve problems, in a timely manner, that could help me during the exam. I am extremely proud of the work that Ed and I accomplished together. His methods of teaching boosted my LSAT score to the point where I am attending law school with a significant scholarship. I recommend Ed as an LSAT Myles without any reservations."

— Josh, LSAT student

"Alice is the icing on the cake for a kid who is doing well, like my kids were most of the time, but she is just the most encouraging person and I know she would be great for any kid who is struggling. She was great for my kid when she struggled on the ISEE! [Competitor] did my daughter's baseline test and basically told us there was no chance to get into the schools we were applying for. So we asked friends for Myles intros and met Alice and she got my daughter into Spence, Chapin, Fieldston, Riverdale, basically everywhere. And she's helping her through Constructing America at Riverdale right now and I have to tell you, I'm a doctor and that class is too hard for me! But Alice is making it happen. She is worth every penny. I had to work really hard to pay her and she was worth it!"

— Parent of Riverdale Student

"Alice took my son from a 21 to a 32 on the ACT, and this was a kid who went to the Professional Children's School who had a very week academic foundation, but Alice made it happen. She helped him apply to college, and was accepted at Princeton, Columbia, and UPenn. Alice is really a fairy godmother for our family she inspires the child who can't be inspired, her patience is endless. She's so loveable really, and she's brilliant! What more could you want?"

— Parent of An ACT & College Application Student

"Alice started with my daughter in junior year of high school. She had always struggled in math, and I had helped her when I could, and even hired other tutors, but she was barely hanging on to a B-. Alice was able to resolve all her questions and she started getting A's! I asked my daughter what the difference was since we had hired other tutors who didn't work out, and she said Alice is just so patient. If a problem or concept didn't make sense the first way Alice explained it, she would find a second and third way until my daughter got it. I guess other tutors had just tried to reexplain the concept the same way and that made my daughter just feel stupid. Anyways, [daughter] got an A in junior year for the first time in math ever, and in senior year she didn't even need Alice and got another A! I only wish we'd found her earlier."

— High School Math Parent

"Working with Felix has been exceptional. His collaborative approach to ACT tutoring sets him apart he doesn't just teach to the test, he connects deeply with the 17-year-old psyche. Felix understands the pressure that comes with looming college deadlines, packed schedules, and high expectations, and he meets students exactly where they are with empathy, humor, and a calm confidence that puts them at ease. What makes Felix truly special is his ability to make learning fun without sacrificing rigor. He has an intuitive sense of how to motivate teens turning what could easily feel like drudgery into an engaging and rewarding experience. His sessions strike the ideal balance between structure and flexibility, empowering our daughter to manage competing demands while still reaching her highest potential."

— Melissa Ben-Yoseph, Test Prep Parent

"Felix seems to be able to do pretty much anything…We'll hit him with anything from geometry to 8th grade Spanish to SAT prep and he is game. Both my kids really enjoy working with him. There is never a suggestion of 'do we haaave to do tutoring?' They come out of sessions feeling accomplished and less anxious about whatever they brought to him. My partner and I spend a lot of time with our kids. Felix is our partner in that work and it helps the boys so much to have an outside voice echoing things. We give Felix a lot of insight about our kids and Felix takes those insights to heart and incorporates them in his work. It's all the things I wish my son would hear from me, but when Felix says them my son actually absorbs the message. And Felix does have excellent delivery and energy."

— Academic Tutoring & Test Prep Parent

"We are a family who cares deeply about academics and learning and thinking critically. Felix embodies those principles. He came to us highly recommended and we have not been disappointed... It takes a very strong and talented person to capture the attention of a 17 year old girl and to earn her respect, and Felix has done that. I think he's just brilliant. Time with Felix is a gift to his students that we are so happy to pay for."

— Test Prep Parent, The Latin School of Chicago

"I worked with Haley Schwartz for five months while she prepared my fifth grade son for the Lower Level ISEE examination. From the very beginning she proved to be an invaluable partner and made an inherently challenging process seamless and enjoyable, while helping him achieve outstanding results. Our son's baseline scores prior to working with Haley improved several stanines on the final examination, thanks to Haley. Because he had not been exposed to much of the mathematics content in school, Haley had a lot of work to do. Her incredible organizational skills helped her create a systematic playbook for when and how to introduce and reinforce new content, ensuring he was very familiar with all of the content by the time of the exam. Haley also effectively employed techniques like repetition, brain breaks, extremely clear communication, positive feedback, and humor to teach him. Haley is also a keen observer and understands children. This is invaluable in situations when a child may be having a hard time maintaining focus. She knows how to adjust in the moment to keep the momentum going. In addition to being such a skilled teacher of content, Haley effortlessly embodies a warm and encouraging attitude that motivates both children and parents alike. She was always optimistic and shared her belief in our son with him often, which was very motivating to us all. Preparing for a challenging exam at a young age can feel insurmountable. Haley was able to overcome our son's initial negative feelings about devoting so much time to preparing, and soon enough he actually enjoyed their sessions. Because of Haley's great strengths as a tutor she made learning hard things enjoyable and rewarding, which is perhaps the greatest lesson. I would enthusiastically recommend Haley as a tutor for anyone's child. She possesses all of the skills and temperament required to teach children effectively and enjoyably. You really are so gifted! If our schools had teachers like you our kids would be so much happier and better educated."

"The middle school admissions process in NYC is bananas. I am so glad we found NOW Test Prep to help us navigate one of the most stress-inducing elements of this process: standardized testing. In the time we worked with David, my daughter made meaningful, truly impressive improvement on the ISEE. Thanks to his excellent coaching and positivity, she walked away not only with a good score but a real skill that will serve her later."

— Kelly Newton, ISEE Parent

"Felix is awesome and we are excited to be in a solid routine for semester 2."

"We are so thankful to Emily for the incredible support she gave Grayson while preparing for the ISEE. She combines deep expertise with patience, encouragement, and a remarkable ability to build confidence. Because of Emily, Grayson walked into the test feeling prepared and capable. We are truly grateful for her partnership and recommend her wholeheartedly."

— The Lewis Family, ISEE Parent

"This group has a host of tutors who can help meet your child's needs. We most recently worked with Emily Garrison who helped our son gain all the confidence he needed to take the SHSAT. We would highly recommend her and NOW Test Prep for anyone trying to make sure their child succeeds academically."

— Melih Onvural, SHSAT Parent

"We engaged Li to assist a family member during the summer with their last minute Earth Science regents review, starting just 2 weeks before the test. We knew it was a long shot, but a recommendation from our neighbor who we trust had us confident we would beat the odds. From the outset, Li established a strong rapport with the student, effectively meeting them where they were and applauding every bit of progress along the way. She used relatable methods and simple analogies to explain the Earth's processes. Over the course of four sessions, our student went from a failing grade to a passing one and this simply would not have been possible without Li's insight, guidance, and motivational support. We came looking for a passing grade and left with a real breakthrough - the emergence of a confident and determined young student who now understands their true potential and won't settle for less - and a lovely passing grade. We couldn't be more grateful!"

— Lisa Sulfaro, Earth Science Regents Parent

"Myles worked with our son to help him prepare for AP Computer Science and SSAT exams to get into an elite prep school. I cannot say enough good things about Myles and Now Test Prep. Thanks to his exceptional tutoring skills, our son not only aced his tests but also gained a much deeper understanding of the subjects. From our very first conversation, we knew Myles was the right fit for our family. Myles's warm personality and passion for teaching immediately put our son at ease, and he was excited and always looking forward to the weekly sessions. Over the course of just a couple of weeks, Myles worked to identify his strengths and weaknesses and create a customized study plan that played to his strengths while addressing areas where he needed improvement. His patience, flexibility, and willingness to adapt to my son's learning style made all the difference. Through his expert guidance, Myles helped our son develop study habits, time-management skills, and a growth mindset. He provided him with tools to better manage stress and anxiety related to test preparations and taught him how to prioritize his tasks and goals. His unwavering support and encouragement gave my son the confidence to take on challenges and persevere even when things got tough. Myles also took a holistic approach to test prep. He helped understand that academic success is only one piece of the puzzle, and that personal development is just as crucial. My son looks up to him now and wants to emulate his kindness, empathy, excellent communication skills and giving back to the community. I am beyond grateful for the incredible guidance and support Myles provides for our son. Not only did he help him ace his tests and get admitted into his dream school, but Myles also played a vital role in his personal development to be a more well-rounded and self-assured individual. We plan to continue to work with Now Test Prep for continued guidance through college admissions. I strongly recommend Myles and Now Test Prep to anyone looking for a tutor and mentor who truly cares about their son or daughter's personal and academic growth."

— Archana Selvaraj, AP CS & SSAT Parent

"Myles & Emily worked with our son on his middle school test prep, and the results were breathtaking. Not only did our son's scores move up 30 points, but his level of commitment and sense of accomplishment has never been so high. The team at NOW offers world-class tutors and world-class service, especially for families constrained by time. Like everything else with NOW, we found the pricing to also be the top of the market, a price well worth the results. We will work with them again."

— Perez Family, Middle School Test Prep Parents

"Now Test Prep is owned by Myles Muñera-Keating, who we've gotten to know over the years as a neighbor. When it was time to prep our son for the SHSAT there was no question we would entrust Myles with this. Myles is able to connect with people of all ages, as evidenced by the fact that he is friendly with everyone on our block. For our son, the early days of prep were a bit rough - he's never really had to work at anything before, and he can get easily frustrated. Myles was patient, kind, and supportive. By the end, our son was consistently doing well on the practice exams and feeling confident and ready for the test. Happy to say he got his first choice SHSAT school, but even if he hadn't I would still recommend Myles."

— Danielle Ferry, SHSAT Parent

"Matt from Now Test Prep tutored my daughter for the SAT. He was engaging, friendly, and clear, and her comfort with him really helped her to improve her score. They share a love of theater and he even took time out of his busy life to come and watch her play! We highly recommend him!"

— T Claire, SAT Parent

"Myles is phenomenal, marrying a true generosity of spirit with a level of patience that matches any essential work involving children. His facility with math is matched by a true gift at translating and teaching math, making complex ideas accessible even to the youngest students. He was able to give my son the most important gift of all: confidence in his own abilities, and the courage to ask questions."

— Lea Carpenter, Math Parent

"Myles was a wonderful tutor! He helped me brush up on my math for the SAT, and after only two weeks of tutoring (five one-hour lessons) I was able to increase my math score from a 720 to a 760! He is able to articulate concepts in ways that are easy to understand, and he genuinely cares about helping his students."

— Sicile N-G, SAT student

"Myles is a great tutor. He helped me with my business analytics class in college which teaches us how to use excel. He is the reason I passed the course. I worked with him weekly and I felt prepared for all my exams and way more confident on my homework and overall course material. 10/10 recommend Myles."

— Nick Goldstein, college business analytics student

— Grey Downey, pre-calculus & calculus student

"Great experience for the entire family.... Myles gave my daughter the time and the skills to confidently face the evil monster known as CALCULUS :) Thank you."

— Kevin Downey, calculus parent

"Haley did a fantastic job helping our son prepare for his ISEE exam. Our son is sometimes a bit slow to warm up to new people and not an enthusiastic test-taker so we were surprised at how quickly Haley connected with him and put him at ease. Her warm demeanor and genuine enthusiasm really resonated with him, and he ended every session so proud of himself and excited about learning. During the sessions she kept him engaged and focused, and she followed up every one with detailed notes for us about what they had covered and how we could reinforce the week's topics. We (and he) were very satisfied with the results as well."

— Eleanor W., ISEE Parent

"In the beginning of my Junior year, I was struggling to learn AP Biology. My school had the first unit (macromolecules) as a summer course and I had forgotten most of the content by September, which impacted my ability to understand new content. Around October, I took Biology tutoring from a Yale student, Li Murphy. Through tutoring, I was able to understand Biology concepts more thoroughly such as Cell Structure, Cellular Respiration & Photosynthesis, and Cellular Reproduction. After taking around 6 tutoring lessons to cover content, I took the first semester final exam and did well. Now, in the second semester, my grade has improved to a 95%! I am more easily able to learn Biology concepts in class like Gene Expression and Meiosis much better thanks to Ms. Murphy's tutoring, for which I am very grateful for!"

— Gabriel P., AP Biology student

"Highly recommend. Myles is professional, organized, kind, and motivating. We began with SSAT prep and ended with Myles helping craft the suite of essays our son had to submit while applying to boarding school as a 9th grader. We're delighted with our son's admissions outcomes and give a lot of credit to Myles!"

— Elizabeth, SSAT & Essay Coaching Parent

"Myles is amazing. He has established a wonderful bond with our daughter and guided her through school work. He has totally helped improve her grades and guided her on the ACT. We cannot recommend Myles more highly and thank you for all the help."

— Laurence, ACT & Academic Tutoring Parent

"From the very first session with Myles, my wife and I recognized our daughter was in good hands. Myles is very knowledgeable about the core curriculum requirements in her (6th) grade level, whether it's humanities, math, reading, or science. He gears the weekly sessions to the pertinent assignments, testing, homework and projects that our daughter is working on, and he does so in a way which is clear and easy for our daughter to understand. He is, moreover, very personable and easy going with our daughter. Finding Myles has been a definite game changer for our daughter, and she looks forward to school with a confidence she did not have before working with him."

— Diego Hojraj, 6th Grade Academic Tutoring Parent

"Myles was wonderful! He made the process smooth the entire time for both my son and myself. He kept in touch and the communication was great between he and my son as well as between he and myself. My son's knowledge and confidence improved, which helped him so much."

— Frances Musco, Academic Tutoring Parent

"Myles Keating of NOW test prep is a sharp Stanford graduate who knows his stuff. He helped my daughter prepare for her 7th grade state math test, and explained to her the importance of time management. It didn't take long for Myles to figure out my daughter's weaknesses, and he soon helped her understand concepts in a way that made sense to her. I actually witnessed an 'a-ha' moment, and it was glorious. The help she received boosted her confidence, and changed her whole attitude towards math. Besides being professional, Myles is also upbeat and relates well to kids. I'm amazed by the impact he had, and delighted that my daughter is enjoying math now."

— Beth Kapocias, 7th Grade Math Parent

"Loved working with Myles! I appreciate his engaging teaching style and organized approach. He is very supportive, encouraging, and knowledgeable. I'm grateful for his focus and dedication during our sessions, as well as the additional learning resources he pointed me to. Myles is a fantastic tutor and I highly recommend him."

"Myles is one of the most gifted instructors I have ever met. He's kind, patient, conscientious and delightful. I can't recommend him highly enough."

— Ben Michaelis, tutoring parent

"Myles is an excellent tutor. He approaches each child at their level and encourages and challenges them at the same time. He responded quickly and effectively to feedback from parents and pupils. Above all, he is respectful, kind, and fun!"

— Elisabeth Brown, tutoring parent

"Myles' great intelligence and warm personality made him a perfect SAT tutor for our daughter, when she needed a brush up on her math before another crack at the SAT. Myles was tremendously helpful: he very clearly and patiently explained how to solve the most difficult of SAT math problems and provided some fine test-taking tips. Of equal importance, he modelled the sort calm perseverance that is essential for success on a stressful test like the SAT, and he was very encouraging of our daughter, whose confidence he helped to build before a high stakes last try. Highly recommended!"
